Happy Thanksgiving!

So yesterday was fun. Ended up having all classes and work canceled and instead drove around all day. Most people think driving sucks, but unless I have somewhere urgen to go, I really enjoy it… well, except traffic.. nevermind.. I just like playing around in my car, not really driving.

So the day started by getting called in at work to fix the firewall (which still is just band-aided together, anyone know a lot about ip_conntrack??) - it’s all acting up lately, blocking all traffic every now and then. So then I start heading to class and get told we’re going to IHOP instead. Go there and get waiting on by a cranky “I don’t know, I don’t eat here” waitress. I’m a sucker and ended up tipping her mucho (i get guilty feeling — thinking it may cheer her up) but get a kinda of snarly “bye” when I leave.

Not wanting to go back and be bored at school, Anthony convinces Kevin, Sean and I to go up to Northgate to get WoW. I guess this is the game Sean is always playing and saying how cool it is, now I just know he’s a sucker for spending $15 a month on top of a $50 purchase of the game… that’s insane. So we get to Best Buy and Anthony is deciding between Harry Potter and WoW and I’m like… dude, that’s $140 to play a game for 6 months — that’s super duper expensive… he decides no… and then also no on the movie. He gets all sad ’cause he doesn’t have a movie anymore. awww.

So we head up to Target to get him the movie at a cheaper price (Damn BestBuy mark up) but guess what? No freakin’ wide-screen and I refuse to let anyone pay money for 3/4 of a movie. So yeah.. we end up buying NOTHING at Target… head over to the mall for what I thought was a fun shot and shop, but no shot cause everyone is a pussy and it’s only noon and yeah… so we walk around the mall and look at shoes at Nordstrom, but I decide it’s too expensive and need to prioritize my spending. I really like the shoes, they’re this black sexy Kenneth Cole shoes, but I can’t really spare $170 right now, so I’ll wait or maybe get a Sketcher’s version of the shoe.

So we end up getting nothing at the mall either and head back down to u-district (with i think one purchase by Kevin the entire trip, ah well, the fun, right?) — Traffic is all kinda weirded out at this time and we try short cuts to get Sean back to catch a bus to head back north (yeah, weird.. drive south to take a bus north…). He ends up catching it and Kevin, Anthony and I decide we’ll take him to his train (nothing better to do, right?). That’s kinda fun, got to see the station for the first time and I swear it reminds me of the station in Half-Life 2 (i think because of the construction going on..). Makes somewhat sense with Valve being located up here, right? I realized then that when I start comparing life to games that I think I need an intervention - or more like a geek-check. And then I drop Kevin off at home…

Waiting around my place for traffic to die down, Jamie and I have broken-conversations over the phone (damn cell phone at my apartment! grr!) and decide to leave around 8:30.. it’s now like 6. Wait wait wait.. bored, like I am now, I leave about 8 and pick Jamie up for a nice relaxing drive home to Port Orchard.

Jamie and I talked about how fun everything is now and our capstone stuff a bit (yes, Kevin, you were right) and yeah.. it just was all nice and pleasant. Anyways.. I get home to my place and it’s about 10:/30, I think.. Family time actually wasn’t too bad, it was nice to hang out — just my siblings and stuff, well, minus Jeremy (my sister Jessica’s husband) and Adam (of course, cause he’s in Iraq) - but Wendy, Steve (her husband), Michelle (by bro’s wife) and Madison (her daughter) were there. We ate the next day and played some Halo 2 — mostly playing around with the new weapons available and stuff. I realize I don’t really like games that much, I just like seeing all the pretty pictures, I think.

Anyways, some Halo 2, some pool and funny conversations, I finally head home and now wait here… for anything.. Bored.. wishing I stayed in Port Orchard (ugh, that bored) — anyways… now that you’re as bored as me if you’ve read this far… what now? hmm… I guess I’ll go surf the web. Happy Thanksgiving!
