Christmas Dinner
As you may know, I actually celebrated Christmas with my family this year on the 11th, but I also celebrated Christmas with Ly on the 25th. It was nice this year to be able to spend it with him, even though he had to work at the hospital until 4.
I felt so domestic this year! We decided to have Turkey for dinner and I prepared and cooked it all by myself — even with my own “recipe!” Those that have eaten my cooking know I like to do things a little different, so too with my Turkey. I decided to make a lemon-infused Turkey (I just love infusing flavor — whatever that means). So I made a 12lb Turkey, because that’s the smallest QFC had when we went shopping - but it actually turned out to be a good size, just enough left overs.
It was a little frozen still when I took it out of its wrappings so I decided to apply water to it directly– eeek. But after rinsing it for a few minutes in warm water, the excess ice chips all melted. I peeled four lemons and stuck them in the cavity and took a bunch of sage as well as some other spices (too early in the morning to remember), peeled back the skin, and stuffed it between the skin and the meat. I also stuck like a stick of butter in various parts of the cavity and skin. I baked it at 325 for so long… it just wouldn’t get up to the 180 degrees. It wasn’t actually that long, just delayed the Turkey by about 45 minutes. This actually gave me more time to brown the Turkey, as I forgot to remove the covering until that time.
Since there were only two of us, we decided to not cook a bunch of other stuff, so I made mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, rolls, and corn (and of course cranberry sauce) — which was definately a good amount for sufficient left overs!
2 commentsLast Supper Club
So last night Kevin IM’d me and was like “we’re still on for the club?” I was all confused.. what club? huh?
I guess the other night he mentioned going to The Last Supper Club because his friend Ryan was coming into town. I was so freaking tired last night, that I was a little shady about going. Anyways, after dinner I took a nap until 9 and got a call from Kevin — I decided, what they heck.. I don’t have to work tomorrow, got dressed and was like “Ly, let’s go!” Anyways… after two energy drinks at 7/11, I was ready to go. Read more

I don’t recommend drinking a pot of coffee, Diet Coke, a Starbucks Doubleshot (double shot, my ass) and a Red Bull as your only liquids in the day. It really messes ya up.
I have a feeling I’ll be saying the same thing 4 hours from now… ![]()
Life Is Good
So as you may have heard or read.. life has been sorta weird the last few weeks for me. Anyways, just wanted to let you know that life is good!
Last night I had a great time at the “Turkey Lurky” Christmas party… I think I’m the only one who gets that pun.. but yeah.. hmm anyways really called a “Very INFO Christmas.” It was really nice to have a dinner and wine and movie with friends. You should read Ryan’s blog for a great description! Thanks for hosting it and thanks Kevin for the great shot glass — just reinforce the image!!
Today was a good day too. It’s been a while since Ly and I hung out. We started the Saturday morning as usual, watching cartoons. We ended up having a nice lunch at Red Robin on Eastlake and I ran into an old friend, Brooke. After that, we went to U-Village which was overly crowded with “last minute shoppers.” We both grabbed a peppermint mocha at Starbucks and walked around Crate & Barrel looking all the things we wish we could afford. We ran into Ly’s friend, Alex, who works there and he gave us the inside scoop on what would be on sale the day after Christmas and how we could give him money and he could get it for us at even more of a discount — sweet! I, of course, was in love with a few of their martini glasses — you can never own too many! Ly really liked the big gobblets. While walking around we found out they have “personal shoppers” available. Talk about yuppie! After dropping your car off for the complimentary valet parking, you can sit in the lot in front of the RAM and drink while you hire someone to shop for you — crazy huh?
Don’t know what to do now, but I’m just in a really cheerful, happy mood.
Nice change, huh?
The Week(s) of Shopping
I don’t think I’ve gone shopping so much in a week’s time. Lately it seems that I go to the mall with Anthony and/or Kevin and/or Ryan and/or Jamie every day lately. Unfortunately, many of the trips involve either not buying anything or not buying anything for anyone else!!
I’m so happy though. Tonight… err.. yesterday I ended up getting my Kenneth Cole shoes that I’ve wanted for a long time… and at a pretty good $30 off discount! Now with my leather jacket (not the one in the photo!!), I’m feeling all cool.
The weird thing is, I think I still need to go to the mall today to pick up some black slacks for tonight… I’m just not happy with what I currenty own. Anyways, thanks everyone lately for going shopping and thanks Anthony for letting Kevin and I crash at your place (what is with Kevin and I sleeping at everyone’s place??).
