Remote Deployment

So yeah. I’ve done remote deployment across all machines… I used to only have a single Organizational Unit on our domain — since for the most part, everyone is equal with policies. What I’ve noticed more and more is the specific need of certain applications for Mentors. Anyways, so I decided to create a new OU called “Mentors” and setup a group policy with Assigned software for their systems (or actually, any system they login to).

It’s so sweet. I got a request today for a new crossword program to be installed for the mentors. Luckily this program is free and also has an option to install from a MSI file. Double sweet. Within seconds I had it installed on all their machines. Yeah yeah.. I know, not that impressive.. but still.. I was all happy. Now I wish I had a bunch of computers to manage.. it’d definately make that part of my job a little more interesting.

What is your behavior type?

Occasionally I use these to help me out to figure how to approach someone. It’s sometimes useful and kinda fun to think about, especially when your friends know about them too.

Focus is their overall goal. Strength is self explanatory. Needs is what a person of that type needs from someone else or in a situation. Do’s are what you should do when interacting with a person of that type. Do Nots are what you should try to avoid doing when interacting with them. Read more

Resolving Issues

It’s confusing when you feel emotions and you want to just scream out everything, but realize you can’t or else you’ll do irreversible damage. It’s also difficult when those people in your life that you always go to share your deepest thoughts are not there for you any longer for various reasons. Read more

Two Weeks In

It’s now the second week of the quarter and I’m ready to get going with this project! If you don’t already know, I’m doing my capstone, Tridium Solutions, (don’t need to click, there’s nothing there except something that is not our logo) with Jamie & Rufino. So we have this wiki that we’re using for our project, but now Jamie wants to create a blog to have a linear conversation about our project. It’s funny and I think Jamie hit it right on the spot, we spend as much time, if not more, trying to organize our own information as we do CIRGE’s (our client). Maybe this is a good thing, practice as you preach? Read more
