Save some time (and money)

So if you’ve been shopping around Hallmark looking for that perfect card to tell your past partners that they may have Chlamydia, save your $3.95. InSpot now has an e-card service that will allow you to send from a selection of 6 different (and each somewhat clever) cards, the STD you’ve been recently diagnosed and a short personal message to up to six previous partners. Unfortunately you’d have to send a separate e-card per STD, as it only allows you to select one at a time, however, you do have the option to send it anonymously. Great way to save $25 this month.

The girl we all loved to hate.

The winsome girl spent her days admiring the verdure of the grass as it contrasted the vivid nosegay located in the center of the park. She lived in an oneiric life, which was anything but laudable by most, knowing the propitious life she lived. Her lifestyle had all to do with her father’s puissant role, acquired through malicious means, which provided the riches she boastfully displayed.

Where did it go?

So it’s Monday morning and I’m asking myself — where did this weekend go!? It’s the first weekend that I’m finally completely out of the old place, but still not quite into the new place. Where I originally thought I only had about 3 boxes left to unpack, I quickly realized that realistically, this is more around 10 or 12. My weekend was by no account busy, so this is actually more about me trying to remember why it’s already Monday and not Saturday! My account of the weekend:

  • Friday: Work. Work consisted of going to presentation on travel, eating lunch, and merging Q&A documents. Then I was off to Sandpoint to my old apartment, the “loft.” It took forever to clean out that oven just first tried to “bake it off.” No love, so we had to go to the drug store to buy some more cleaning supplies (sweet!) and came back and cleaned some more. Ly and I cleaned this until almost midnight. I made sure there were vacuum marks in the floor to give that extra “just cleaned” feel, as well as some random puffs of Pledge for that extra-clean smell.
  • Saturday: Ah ha, this is where the day didn’t go so well. Woke up somewhat late, unpacked a few boxes. I think Ly and I were so tired from the night before, that we just moved like molasses. It wasn’t until the afternoon that we finally got over the Sandpoint to drop off the keys (our original goal was to head there at 8 am). After Sandpoint we were hungry and went to Best of Bento for some teriyaki. During lunch/dinner, Ly told me that he was tired and didn’t really want to go the the Poker party that night… and he didn’t want to lose another $10. I decided to go by myself. We headed back up to Greenwood and straightened up a couple things and then headed down to Eastlake. I don’t enjoy playing poker, but there is always Kevin and Ashley there to keep me entertained… as well as the first ‘losers’ of the tournament. I played some Egyptian Ratscrew and drank a Crown & Coke (okay… maybe two). It was actually quite fun and hilarious as I had the worst luck of slapping back in. After losing, we played Bullshit. Bree kicked our asses, twice, and then it was time to go home. After that, I headed home and just waited around for Ly to return from clubbing (too tired, eh?). I went to bed around 3 am.
  • Sunday: Sorta just sitting around and watching TV and just viewing websites until IM from Anthony inviting to go shopping. Well, I can’t turn down that. Went to Northgate for a while, he bought shoes for Nordie, jeans and shirts from Express. Went over to Best Buy and found out they didn’t have any WoW, thinking this was a sign that I shouldn’t play, he said we might as well head up to Target. Got in there and quickly had a copy of WoW placed into my hands. After buying some other fun things, such as a loofa and soap and he a Swiffer (don’t worry, I already have one, so I was only a little jealous), we headed back to my place to grab my laptop. Ate lunch/dinner at Gorditos and then went to his place and played WoW until about 9pm. Came back home and talked to Ly on the phone, still at the Clay Aiken concert… watched some MTV of this show where they try to “get back” at each other.. saw them tear someone’s house down as a “ha, got you back!” prank and washed some dishes. Then I went to bed. The end.

So I petition for another weekend day. But I actually feel better after writing that, knowing that I guess I did do a couple things this weekend. Hopefully next weekend won’t be so much sitting around my apartment. Oh shoot, got to leave for work.

A bit more than a susurrus of a day!

I awoke to the susurrus of my blinds from the wind of the storm. The days now lack the beautiful alpenglow that spoil me during the summer mornings. Instead, they are replaced with subfusc clouds, creating dapples of light on the soaked pavement.

Anthony has been asking me to play WoW with him, as well as David… but I’m reluctant to start because I hate feeling like a neophyte, which I always do when I play games. I asked David the point of immolating in WoW, and he said:

David Horm says:
killing somebody gives you honor points
David Horm says:
along with bragging rights
David Horm says:
honor points means better reputation
David Horm says:
better reputation also means more deals and discounts and exclusive pvp gear

WoW seems to have an entire set of mores that I will soon have to learn.

Trusted Computing

I found this short movie about Trusted Computing, and although not very detailed in its content, it is done really well. Check it out! If you don’t like the super high quality from my server, you can always check out a lower resolution at Lafkon.
