Gregoire’s Fate

It seems that Gregoire will continue to be our Governor. What a very detailed but clear verdict by Judge John Bridges. It’s interesting that not only was the case dismissed, but Rossi’s total vote decreased by four people. The dismissal means it can’t be taken to that court again, although I do not believe it stops a Supreme Court appeal.

**UPDATE** Although Rossi had the option, he has decided not the appeal the decision. Finally an end to this and we can be assured we have a governor.

Google Earth Plus

I just downloaded Google Plus Earth and wow! I LOVE IT! It’s so feature-rich that I don’t even know where to begin. Imagine Keyhole + prettiness + driving directions + play back of your driving path = Google Plus Earth

It allows you also to hook up your GPS (which I haven’t yet) and show exactly where you are in Satellite view. They seem to have really improved the rendering image as it doesn’t have the same blocky-downloading effect that Keyhole LT has.

You can also overlay your own images over the map, which is neat, I guess. I don’t know.. it’s going to take me a while to discover all the new additions.

I think the neatest thing is instead of only flying between places like a big hop, it now lets you fly like you’re a helicopter following the road, a much better representation of how we normally travel. ;-)

MPAA Targets P2P Sites Sharing TV Shows

MPAA Targets P2P Sites Sharing TV Shows
I’m so sick of the RIAA and the MPAA!

The MPAA is attacking sites that now list torrents of TV programs. Come on! I love being able to watch a TV show on TV live, however, many times I’m away from home and can’t get to see my favorite shows (like 24). I could program my DVR on my computer to record the show or even my VCR, but sometimes I don’t know I won’t be there. We’re just turning into a world where we can’t share any content with anyone else without being sued. It’s just hard to support an industry when they’re out to suck as much money from their customers as they can get. It’s interesting, because they’re numbers for sales of DVDs of TV programs has been almost doubling the last couple years (in the multi-billions now of TV program sales)… they can’t use the argument that trading is losing them money for this one!

I love being able to open up a torrent and download it all compressed and ready for me to watch.

It just sucks that now we can’t even legally share TV broadcasts with each other! I’m just getting sick of big business suing small people.
